We are subject to UK GDPR, to ICO guidance and to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, PECR, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site recognise your device and remember information between pages or visits, such as your sign-in session or your preferences.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

We keep our cookie use on this public website to a minimum. One cookie is strictly necessary: it remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner. It cannot be disabled, and it does not require consent.

  • ataracare_cookie_consent: stores your cookie choice on this website. It expires after 12 months, and it is a first party cookie holding only that choice and the date you made it.

4. Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use this public website, so we can improve it. They are separate from the Atara Care platform and from resident data, which are stored and processed in the UK.

We use Google Analytics, configured with IP anonymisation. Its script is loaded, and its cookies are set, only after you choose Accept all in our cookie banner. If you choose Essential only, the script is never loaded. The cookies below are set by Google, on this website's own domain:

  • _ga: distinguishes one visitor's device from another, so that a returning visit is not counted as a new one. It expires after two years.
  • _ga_<id>: performs the same function for the one Google Analytics property this website uses, where <id> is that property's identifier. It expires after two years.

5. Cookies in the signed-in platform

When you sign in to the Atara Care platform, which is separate from this website, cookies are set for the sign-in session and to protect against cross-site request forgery. They are not set on www.ataracare.com.

6. What we do not use

We do not use:

  • Advertising or targeting cookies
  • Cross-site tracking or behavioural profiling
  • Social media tracking pixels

8. Your choices

On this website: the first time you visit, a banner explains which cookies we use. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time by choosing Cookie settings in the footer and then Essential only.

In your browser: you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the website work.

9. Third party cookies
